I live on a very tight budget with no medical or dental insurance. My teeth arent the greatest. I know I need a dentist but I cant afford it right now. Anyway, One of my back teeth flairs up occassionally causing some discomfort. I take asparin for it and it goes away in a few days. the asparin helps alot to dull the pain. It seems to flair up the most when I am sick or am cold. does anyone else have a similar problem and what do you do about itThis may sound strange but it is true and I could use some advice?
It could be an infection. Try to get to a dentist or a dental clinic as soon as you can. Some dentists offer free evaluations and the dental clinics at Dental Universities are cheap if not free. This may sound strange but it is true and I could use some advice?
You probably have an abcess in your tooth. Try calling the American Dental Association to find out if there's a dentist in your area who accepts payment on a sliding scale fee. In the meantime, you can go to the ER or your doctor to (hopefully) get antibiotics to heal the infection.
hmm... i do not have a problem. but i suggest you start saving, and invest some $$$ on visiting the dentist... if you continue using aspirine as your ';cure';, might be bad. as in, by taking anymore aspirine, it will no longer have any effect on the body.
Hope this helps, Peace.
Go to the Dentist, most dentist will set you up on a payment plan (as long as you put a good portion of the bill down) don't let your teeth get too bad, a friend of mine did that , now he has no teeth, ( he has FULL upper and LOWER dentures) but he has real good insurance.....
Brush and floss twice a day.

But try to see a dentist as soon as you can.
You need to see a dentist, and if you REALLY can't afford one, go find a ';dental school'; near you, and often they will treat you for free or for very little as you can be used as a ';training tool';.
The more you leave problems like this, the more likely it becomes that your tooth will need an extraction. Get it checked as soon as possible by a dentist.
Check around your area for a dentist that will look at you for free, or at a greatly reduced cost. If you call a Catholic charity, or Salvation Army place they should be able to point you in the right direction. If you let this fester for long, you might end up losing the tooth.
You may have a cavity that is starting to get close to your nerve in your tooth and is getting sensitive. You might try Sensodine toothpaste and see if it helps. Unfortunately, these things don't heal themselves, and the longer you go without professional dental help, the worse it can get!
Is there a dental school anywhere near you? They often provide free or low cost dental services. Also, if you are on a tight budget, do you qualify for Medicaid? No harm checking. My son is now old enough that I can no longer carry him on my medical insurance, and he did qualify for Medicaid and gets better deductible rates than I do!!
Please don't suffer just because you can't afford to pay for dental work. There are options out there (other than tying a string to your tooth and a door knob and slamming the door!).
Have you had your wisdom teeth removed? I had a similar problem where on my gums I would get a huge puss bubble thing from time to time and it really hurt and when I went to the dentist it turned out there was a tooth trying to grow in behind it.
So you should definitely get that checked out. A good way to get dental work for cheap is to find a dental school in your area. They are always looking for people to practice on - especially people with dental problems, as those provide experience on issues that the students may come across in the future. And the students are always supervised by a licensed dentist so it's basically as good as seeing a ';real'; dentist but much much cheaper!
Good luck!
i don t have the prob but i think u should save up some $$$$ to go n see a dentist
I used to have really good teeth but after nursing 6 babies my teeth went downhill fast.......... I too was getting bad tooth aches that would flare up......which means infection.............I would take all sorts of medicine for it until it would settle down. The only thing that you can do is go to the dentist. Put some money aside and go...........that tooth is only going to flare up until one day you have a huge problem........if infection gets into your bloodstream then you will be one sick puppy and probably end up in the hospital! Which happened to my brother. The dentist will have a look at the tooth and see if he can do a root canal.....if not then he will just pull it. The thing about getting it pulled though is then your teeth will start to lean into the empty space where your tooth once was. It is possible that it could eventually cause you to have gaps in the front and definitely in the back.
I finally got tired of the tooth aches and had my top teeth removed and dentures put in............I absolutely love them! I have a better smile and now I can eat whatever I want to with no more tooth aches!
Good Luck
