this punch is mostly used with the strait blast this can help to simplify the punch also depending on how you do it, it can help take some flexibility from the wrist with the strait blast this is used in succesion along with shuffling forward to ad body weight to the punches
also many styles have different types of punches and most are worth trying out strait blast is wing chun I believe but we use it in arnis alsoIs it true that bare knuckle boxers use vertical punches instead of horizontal?
thats a wing chung punch
it might be that you protect your knuckles better with fist held vertical
iv seen modern boxers fighting bare knuckle ,and they were devastating , id be a bit cautious trying out this old style boxing
.
you already have your answer
Well in that style yes....Not in all styles, see in Martial Arts Loooong time ago there where NO gloves so all fighting was bare knuckle fighting ! Look up Muay Boran thats Old style of Muay Thai and the punches are the same as today in boxing. So, it just depends on the style that your training in. This Style says our way is better and the other style will say NO our way is better !!!
Every style has there own way, and all of them are the ';right way '; :)
yes
Yes. It's also the primary fist form used in Isshin-Ryu. More effective on the body than a twisted punch because it keeps the bones in the forearm aligned.
