Is it true if you use dvd's in ur ps2 it screws the ps2 up?

idk i heard it did from a few people but i am not sure does ne one know?Is it true if you use dvd's in ur ps2 it screws the ps2 up?
that is not true

*all* ps2 games are actually played FROM dvd discs, just like the playstation playing games from CDs

the term DVD does not mean movie, it's the type of disc.

anybody that tells you otherwise is misinformedIs it true if you use dvd's in ur ps2 it screws the ps2 up?
That is untrue Jim, a large percentage of the PS2's first gen games were recorded on CD-ROM's not DVD's.

I left a DVD in mine while it was turned on for about 24 hours and the PS2 stopped reading any discs. But i just unplugged it for a day and it works fine now.
I used DVDs in my ps2 a few times and my ps2 is fine. However, I am not sure if it affects the ps2 after prolonged use as a DVD player.
If you watch DVDs too frequently ony our PS2, it can destroy the lens in the PS2, and that lens is very, very hard to replace, so yes, it does screw the PS2 up.
yes it is
yes that is true in a tiny way. yes playing DVDs in it actually wear out the laser to some extent. But this is also the case with games as well. the same goes with computer disk drives (especially with burning lots). but its nothing to worry about. its been proved that if you look after it (like turn it off when its not being used) then it will last you a lifetime.
my ps2 works fine after watching dvd's and then switching to a game. the only thing is if the movies r rated you have to put in a code which you create
My PS2 is 6 years old, and I play DVD movies on it constantly. Heck, it is working like brand new, and it is all scratched up and full of dust, so I don't know which clueless person told you that.
no, it does not but it will if u do it to much in a row so like do it once or twice a week
I've heard that about PS2s, but I played DVDs in it anyway..It eventually stopped recognizing any movies I put in...So, that was my experience.
