Why do true Christians not use the cross in worship?

Because the instument of Christs' impalement was a 'stauros' or pole, not a 'crux' or cross, and God condemns idol worship. If you kiss it, and pray before it, you are worshipping it. If it's not an idol, why do you use it in prayer? I recall just fine, how much pain and agony Jesus went thru, I don't need a material object to remind me, anymore than I need a golden breast hanging around my neck to remind me that I am a woman. If Jesus' sacrifice is that important to you, how could you ever forget? The Israelites didn't think that the golden calf they made in the desert was really their god, they were just using it to remind themselves of their freedom from slavery by God's hand, but God considered it an idol, and they died for it.Why do true Christians not use the cross in worship?
because true christians are spiritual and they don't worship idols.Why do true Christians not use the cross in worship?
1st. God did forbid using any religious idols or symbols in his pure worship. (Ex. 20:4-5) That includes kissing and bowing before it too.

2nd. Cross worship did not start with Jesus. It was the symbol used by Tammuz, a Babylonian false god. (Ex. 8:13-14)

3rd. Does it make sense to, as a part of worship, bring in the instrument of death? Like someone wearing a bottle of booze and a car necklace for a relative killed by a drunk driver.

4th. If it were a cross, 2 blocks of wood nailed together, why in did Galatians 3:13 quote Deuteronomy 21:22-23? Paul well knew the difference between a tree, a stake, and a cross. He applied Deut. 21:22-23 which says ';stake'; and ';cursed is every man hung upon a tree';.

5th. Why did true Christians not worship any cross during the 1st and 2nd centuries? They were much closer to Jesus than we today are.
True Christians wouldnt get all worked up over someone else's preferences or way of worshipping.

They would mind their own business and not try and decide who is the ';True Christian';.

After all, only God knows what is truly in a person's heart.

Lucky for mankind it wont be those ';True Christians'; doing the final judging or heaven's lunchroom will have a lot of empty seats.
True Christians would rather pay more attention to the teachings of Jesus about finding the Kingdom of God within than put much detail in the whole death and resurrection business that was somehow needed for forgiveness of sins. Funny really because I always thought Jesus said that to be forgiven you must forgive...
What does ';USING'; a cross in worship have to do with anything. CHRIST is the focal point of Christian worship not a THING, a thing that represents HIS DEATH. The Christ I worship is a risen, living CHrist. Rather strange and approaching rude question if you ask me....
Hmmm, you sure they (you) are 'true' Christians??

';but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness';

';For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.';
True Christians don't kiss on the cross.

True Christians don't carry a cross on your neck.

True Christians don't put a cross tattoo on your skin.

True Christians don't believe it is is cross.

True Christians do believe it is stake.
Your question has a false assumption.

The true Christian must take up the cross and follow Jesus (see Matt 10:38; 16:24; Mark 8:34; Luke 9:23). Those who do not take up the cross do not follow Christ.

Cheers,

Bruce
Just a simple answer from the bible.

1 Corinthians 10:14 (New International Version)

14Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.

Across is an idol no matter how people claim to use it %26amp; as for me I will follow the bible not the teachings of man.
I would disagree, the denial of Christ's Crucifixion and defeat of sin and death at Calvary makes someone a non-Christian IMHO.
Surely I am not the only one who is tired of this 'true Christian,' business. Who are you to say which of us truly believes that Jesus Christ is Lord? God bless you.
Which of the nearly 40,000 denominations are the true christians?
True scotsman fallacy? Who says what is a true christian?

Maybe the ones who do use crosses are the ';true christians';?
You don't need a symbol to get closer to GOD.
